Added Facebook Like Wall

I added a facebook like wall to the site today using the BuddyPress Wall plugin. You can see it in action here.

This plugin:

BuddyPress Wall (BP-Wall) turn your Buddypress Activity Component to an activity stream similar to a Facebook “Wall”.

When you install BP-Wall, the members can post status, updates and reply on each other’s walls.

BP-Wall turn the Favorite/Unfavorite module of Buddypress to a facebook “I Like/Unlike” system.

BP-Wall change add a new comment system similar to Facebook.

Which is great cuz I want the site to have a Facebook like social aspect to it.

ShopMyStore Business Plan

The SMS business plan is coming along. I added a whole bunch of stuff to the site today like an about page, products portfolio, success stories etc. Really, really neat and good stuff.

Here's an example from the Opportunity page:

Stop waiting for life to happen and create it – with ShopMyStore!

ShopMyStore.org enables online shoppers to find the best price on any product, find exclusive coupons, and get cash back from thousands of popular online retailers.

What if you got paid every time you or your friends bought a pair of running shoes online, purchased a television, ordered a vacuum, bought some bedroom furniture, got a good deal on a digital camera, or used a coupon to save money on something you wanted? ShopMyStores’s home-based business provides an opportunity to earn income on the products you and your friends are already buying every day online.

Read more about the Opportunity

Here's some more stuff from the About page:

Founded in 2012, ShopMyStore was my vision for success. I had years of low wage, dead end and even part-time jobs experience, I was dissatisfied with the economy and the financial opportunities it created for people. I realized that the only way to find an opportunity I wanted to be a part of was to create that opportunity.

So with my laptop in front of me, I formulated a business plan. On one side of the screen I wrote down everything that I knew worked well, and on the other side everything that didn’t. I deleted half the screen and only kept the side that contained what would become the governing principles behind ShopMyStore – integrity, solid business practices, and a commitment to always putting the needs of the masses above the needs of myself.

Here's a short snippet from the Products Portfolio page

Syndicated Partners (SP) offer their family, their friends and themselves cash back on the best prices for products they are already using and spending money on anyway, such as food, clothing, medications, health & beauty, nursing & feeding, baby & kids, pet care, appliances, electronics – and more. There is no change in buying habits and you don’t have to convince friends and family to purchase products they don’t need or can’t afford. These are products people simply can’t live without.

And, there's more but you have to visit the site for that: ShopMyStore

Today we are working on...

Today we are adding a hunting and shooting site to the site in order to showcase what sorts of sites are possible to build.

Disabling RSS

We have disabled the rss function on the main site in order to reduce the event that someone uses an rss reader to copy our hand made product posts for their own site.

We created some stuff today.

We created some stuff today. We set up the official url today,

ShopMyStore.org.

This has been a long time coming. I found another site that uses the Prosperent Wordpress plugin to make a nice shopping site.

It's like mine. It's based on the same idea, cash back shopping.

So, I copied some of their site.  It helped a lot to get me motivated to start the project.

Welcome to the Web Development Account Blog

This blog is for the purpose of keeping a journal of how I made my website. Google seems to upload blogger accounts to the internet faster than private blogs so I thought using blogger would be a better way to go for the public.

Currently the site is hosted on a subdomain of x10hosting.com. I highly recommend them as a hosting company. I have been using them for cheap beta testing hosting for years and their paid plans are top notch.

The beta site url is shopmystore.x10.bz. You can visit this site if you want. It's basically an original copy of the basic finished site.

This is where we test all our Wordpress.org plugins first and test website designs before rolling them out to the finished site.
